Susan Wojcicki
MBA 1998
She helped build our connected world.
Susan Wojcicki’s garage may be more famous than she is, but don’t let that mislead you. True, she rented her Menlo Park, Calif., garage to Larry Page and Sergey Brin when they launched Google in 1998 – the same year the businesswoman received her MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. Wojcicki, whom Page says has “a healthy disregard for the impossible,” ran the search giant’s advertising efforts for many years. In that time, she oversaw the $3.1 billion purchase of DoubleClick in 2007, as well as the $1.65 billion purchase of YouTube, where she now serves as CEO. Through brilliance and savvy, Susan Wojcicki has achieved fame in her own right. She is No. 9 on the Forbes list of The World’s Most Powerful Women and one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People.
